Background

My current focus is the Yin Cheng Gong Fa system of Wang Peisheng as taught by Zhang Yun. I have been studying with Zhang Yun since 2001.

I studied with Zhang Luping from 1987 till his death in 1998. I studied mostly Yang style and Chen Style with him. I had the chance to explore all five of the main Tàijíquán forms with him as well as the Tan Tui of Wang Zi Ping. See his son's website.

James Sturnfield has a PhD in Mathematics from Purdue University and worked in the engineering and research industry for 35 years doing a large variety of types of computer modeling until he retired. He has studied various styles of Tàijíquán for 40+ year with various teachers besides Zhang Luping and Zhang Yun. He has been involved with fascial studies for 35 years beginning with massage work and more recently studying the growing literature of fascial research.

I do mostly private lessons and occasional workshops.
